2010 - 365 days with and antique camera. -- Update: 6/2/10. Well, I didn't make it. I did make it through about 75 days or so. And w/ the exception of one day, I have continued a "normal" project 365. The one day I missed, there were just too many other things going on and I totally forgot about it. Oh well.
I stopped the antique project because it was holding me back from using the equipment I wanted to deliver the effects I was after. So there you go -- sometimes modern, digital is just the right choice.
BTW, I'm still using the old cameras plenty. Just not every day...
Lori and Dan Get Married. November 1, 2008, Middletown, CA
We were supposed to get married under a wisteria arbor at about sunset on a beautiful California evening. Unfortunately, and fortunately, the first big rain storm of the year rolled in on Friday and Saturday. We had over 3" of rain during the storm, including while our wedding was going on.
Since we were at a ranch, we looked for an alternative venue in the local barns and machine sheds. The barn we actually used is a fantastic old hay/feeding barn near the ranch we were visting. The roads were muddy and we had to four-wheel to get to the barn. Only one vehicle got stuck, and that was well before the wedding. All of the 4x4s made it at the actual ceremony, so the rain, wind, mud, and barn just made it a big adventure.
I set up a couple of flashes and our friend captured the ceremony. Then we did some portraits and took off for warmer, drier digs back at the house.
It really turned out perfect, and was a perfect weekend too.
