Okay, it’s true. I haven’t blogged much lately. Partly because we have been busy, and partly because I haven’t had a lot to say.
Anyway, we just got back from vacation. I have never grown a mustache (by itself before), so I decided to give it a try. Since this was a first, I wanted a decent pic of the new look. I figured a bit of stubble to go w/ the cheesy ‘stache would be just right.
So, at lunch today, I took the pic. Tomorrow I have to visit w/ a client, so we’re back to a clean shave tonight…
We went to central Nevada (almost exactly to the geographic center) for some Jeeping with my business partner, Jim, and his boys. We had a lot of fun and I made some videos. Here’s one. More to come.
It’s been quite a while since I have blogged. Even a while since I have posted pictures…Now I notice that the last WordPress update made my page format look strange. Guess I can add that to the list of things to do.
Anyway, let me start with a “happy riding” to the OKFreeers out there. It looks like there will be nice warm weather and a few thundershowers over the next few days. Wish I was going to be there! Ya’ll know what to do: Get up early and ride fast!
My brother, Hal, and my friend, Don are both riding OKFree this year. I just couldn’t keep the week open — I have to travel to Ontario and Ohio that week. Realistically though, I’ve ridden my bike three times since May 1st. I doubt I could enjoy a week on the bike right now anyway! Ah well, a missed adventure.
Sunday is Dipsea Race day for me. Because of my injury a couple months ago, I’m not really in as good of shape as I would like. I guess I will survive it all though. I ran last night and felt pretty good. Today I am tapering…Tomorrow too. Sunday, I’m burning.
Cookie is feeling much better. She is still on some medication, which slows her down some. And, that’s the goal. No Tasmanian Cookie Devils for another week or so. After that, she can go crazy again!
Her eye is much better now, though still scarred and a bit red. Her scar will last for a long time and probably impair her vision in that eye some. She already compensates very well, so I guess she will be fine.
We have been getting consistent rain over the last few weeks. At least once a week. This is very unusual, and actually we have had record rain this weekend. As in the first four days of the month we have exceeded all the monthly records for June — of course that makes sense since we get very little, if any rain, in most June months.
We sure hope the dry season gets here soon though. 20 years in this temperate climate makes one soft, and this is getting tough!
