Today I bought 200 rolls of film for $29 on ebay. Guess film is a bit out of favor. And I won’t be needing that Leica M9 any time soon…

Most days when I ride Eddy to work I find myself searching for excuses to jump in the Jeep and be cool. It’s too cold, wet, hot, hot and cold, hard, takes too much time, my bike tires need to be pumped up, I look so cool in the Jeep… you name it, I’ve used it. Oh yeah, and it is very rewarding when I actually make it out to the garage to un-tether Eddy and let him romp. On those days I get to see my turkey and deer friends (over 110 friends btw, though they don’t have an internet connection to be on Facebook), the bobcats, coyotes, and Frank-the-park-maintenance-guy.
This morning was pretty typical. It was 52 degrees and partly foggy. I jumped to the end-game of how good it would be to get going and made it out the door pretty easily. In addition to the expected highlights (Frank, turkeys, amazing views from the Seven Sisters this morning), Eddy was oh-so-much happier w/ his cleaned and lubricated rear cluster. No more wheel orchestra’s to listen too. Perfect.
I worked on some pedaling drills on the flats, trying to improve my efficiency. It was actually pretty enlightening to see the 10% or so speed bump when I was doing them right. Those are some muscles worth developing I think. As (almost) always, it was so good to be on the bike instead of burning limited fossil fuel resources.
