Tonight, on my run, I sprained left my ankle. Bad. I can’t put any weight on it. Lori says it is my forced taper for Dispea. I’m not so sure. At least it doesn’t hurt when I don’t think about it. Or move it. I’m sure it will get better soon.

Certifiably…Silver…Man…Miami?

First, it looks like I may be in Miami the week of June 7. Miami, OK that is. Yeah, that’s pretty interesting isn’t it? I’m hoping I can confirm that by Tuesday of next week. Because if it works out, I can bring my OKFree stuff out as baggage on that trip. That would be cool.

Mom, we need to talk if that happens… That’s a good thing isn’t it?

So, what about this Silverman thing. Well, I signed up for the Silverman half-ironman triathlon tonight. Yep, that’s where the “certifiably” comes from. Crazy that is. I’ve kicked the idea of a triathlon around for a while, but have been afraid of the swim. I decided that isn’t a good reason to not do a triathlon.

Today Lori met me at the pool and we went swimming. I swim like a crab. But I do make forward progress some of the time, so I guess I can cover 1.2 miles in less than an hour or so. As one of our friends has said, you just have to get used to saying “slow swimmer coming through!” on the bike. That way no one gets hurt.

Yeah, so lots of swimming in my future. Hmm… that’s going to be a real challenge. It’s doable though.

We rode up Mt. Diablo today. It’s about 1300′ taller than Mt. Tamalpais, but the climb is less steep for most of the ride. The last couple of miles out of about 10 are much more like Mt. Tam. The climb was fun but it was very, very cold on the way down. We stopped a few times to lay on the pavement to get Lori warmed back up. It was that cold.
