Yeah, It’s Kinda Like Free

Oklahoma Freewheel is one of the best deals your’e ever going to find. 7 days of camping, 7 days of riding your bike w/ aid-station support and a sag wagon, and numerous opportunities for good ol’ barbecue and biscuits and gravy — sometimes at the same meal! But the real beauty of OKFree is that the training is basically free. You just have to get out there and do it. So, there’s a small cost in bike maintenance, Gu, and Gatorade. The rest is all on on you. And the payback in fitness is way more value than any of that stuff. So yeah, it’s kinda like free, only better.

Today I rode with Lori on her Ironman plan. She needed to ride four hours. I just needed to ride — that first day from Paris to Heavener has got me a bit worried. I’m still trying to figure out how they came up with that one. ;-)

Anyway, we rode 64 miles, today. A few pretty big hills (including the Marshall Wall — with name like that you know it’s fun). Mostly cloudy w/ 30 minutes of very cold downpour. The rest was pretty nice though the roads were wet just about the whole day. Here is the ride.
