Lookout Sunrise

We spent Friday night in the lookout. The wind was blowing 30-35 mph when we went to bed around 10 p.m. By about 2 a.m. it had moderated to 5-10 mph and it was very clear out — and the moon was very bright. Four walls of glass make for a bright night when the moon is like that. Then, as the night wore on the fog rolled in (we didn’t see it) and all of Southern Marin was covered with fog by the time we got up at around 6:00 a.m. This is the sunrise, w/ Corte Madera Creek prominent on our side of the bay.
And, the next picture is a bit later of the Osborne Fire Finder. It is used to determine bearings to “smo
kes” and estimate distances. We mainly report bearings and land feature names.
And, finally, at about 5 p.m. the wind picked back up to around 30 mph. The ravens started cruising around the lookout, so I took their pictures too. The were mostly just floating in the air. No need to flap…
